Overview
1883 ran from 2021–2022 and is completed — 1 season and 10 episodes in total.
Set in the year of its title, 1883 follows James and Margaret Dutton as they leave Fort Worth, Texas with their children and throw in with a wagon train of European immigrants, guided across the Great Plains by Pinkerton agents Shea Brennan and Thomas. Narrated by their teenage daughter Elsa, it is a hard, unsentimental story of river crossings, disease, bandits and grief, and of the choices that bring the family to Montana, where the Yellowstone ranch begins. A limited series of ten episodes, it aired from December 2021 to February 2022 as the first prequel to Yellowstone, and was followed by 1923.
